canadian bacon bits? (about us)

Why did we call this blog "canadian bacon bits", you ask?  Well, some know that Adam's nickname in high school was "Bacon" (a story he can tell you sometime).  A handful of his friends from high school still call him Bacon.  One friend told us once that when they say our names together (Katie and Bacon), it sounds like Canadian Bacon.  I thought that was pretty great.  And now, we are adding more to our family of two with our various animals and our little girl (these are our bits).  So as a full Jaskowiak family, we have become "Canadian Bacon Bits".

Here's a few more words about us and all of our bits:

Adam:
from Minnesota. loves being outside & active. works in medical research. aspiring handyman of all kinds. loves to play basketball, games and try new things.  huge heart and handsome blue eyes.

Katie:
from Iowa. loves being outside & active. works as a school counselor. aspiring photographer. loves to work on artistic projects, practice yoga and read.  competitive, creative, loving and inquisitive.

Iota:
one year old.  beautiful golden retriever.  loves socks.

Louie: 
7ish years old. hates iota.  loves food and sleeping on katie's lap.

Splish, Splash and Flower:
our backyard chickens.  each lays a delicious brown egg every day.

Adam and Katie Jaskowiak moved to Colorado in 2007, and we now call Fort Collins our home.  While we are both midwestern in our hearts, we love the beauty and activity that Colorado has to offer. We spend a lot of our time outside hiking, biking and enjoying nature.  We also love games of all sorts and are enthusiasts of new and challenging strategy games.  The nerdier, the better.  We love spending time with family and friends, and are so lucky to have such wonderful individuals in our lives....
